Er wurde vom ersten Präsidenten Jomo Kenyatta geprägt, dem Namenspaten des internationalen Flughafens von Nairobi (IATA-Code NBO), an dem die Air Harambee beheimatet ist. Sie bietet Kurz- und Mittelstreckenflüge innerhalb Kenias und Westafrikas an, Verbindungen nach Ost- und ins südliche Afrika, sowie Interkontinentalflüge nach Europa, in den Nahen Osten, nach Süd- und Ostasien.
Ihr Logo zeigt eine galoppierende Antilope.
